| The CT5 and the CT10 power supply family are now equipped with an extended active input transient
filter which allows input-voltage-swells of up to 700Vac for maximum one second. |
A special control loop in the transient-blanking circuit avoids that such high voltages will be forwarded to
the main converter. This protection feature is designed for occasional, non-periodical overvoltage events,
which can occur when large generators start or on the remaining phases of a three-phase system when
one phase has a ground-fault. This feature should not be used for repetitive, periodical overvoltage pulses.
The new feature will be in place with the next production lots. |

| - Class I Div 2 Approval for the CS-Series |
All CS3, CS5 and CS10 units have successfully achieved the approval for the use in Hazardous
Locations Class I Div 2, Groups A, B, C and D areas.
The investigations were performed in accordance with the new ANSI / ISA standard 12.12.01-2007.
The old UL1604 is obsolete and no longer a suitable standard for Class I Div 2.
PULS left UL and went to CSA to obtain the Class I Div 2 approval. CSA tested for both countries:
Canada and the U.S.A.

| - QS units usable in Railway applications with EN61373 requirements |
| As already announced in the November issue 2009 the QS series was tested regarding the
compliance to the EN61373 class B requirements. The reason was that we see more and more
requests for railway applications. |
The European standard EN61373 describes shock and vibration requirements for components
used for railway applications with different classifications. Usable at the:
1. vehicle body (5,9m/s2) – Class A
2. vehicle body (7,9m/s2) – Class B
3. bogie
4. wheel set
Again the good news is that the QS3, QS5, QS10 and QS20 passed all tests successfully and are
therewith usable for those kinds of applications at the vehicle body even under the harder conditions
of class B requirements.
Please note that this is not a complete railway approval but allows supporting shock and vibration critical
railway applications and is also the first step to this segment! |

| - QS40.244 is available from serial production |
| UL submitted to PULS the authorization to apply the UL mark for the QS40.244.This means
that the unit is now available from serial production. We’re looking forward to receiving
your project requests and of course your orders. |
