New RSP-1500 Series 1500 W power supplies
We are glad to announce the new box power supplies from MEAN WELL, the RSP-1500 series. This series has a power factor corrector (PFC) and the possibility of using several unit in parallel to increase the output power. The series has been developed with ZVS technology and has a great power density of 8.3 W per cubic inch. The RSP series can offer maximum output power even with an input of 100 Vca. With the innovative trimmer function, the output voltage can be adjusted from 75 to 100% of its value by means of external resistances. It also includes as standard a power failure compensation function (sensing), remote on and off,auxiliary output of 12V 0.1A, and alarm signals. The RSP series offers protection against overloads by means of a constant current limiting unit with switch-off. In this way, when an overload occurs, the power supply tries to push out all the demanded current (reducing the output voltage) and if, after a couple of seconds, the peak has not disappeared (it is not a start-up peak, but rather an overload or short-circuit), the power supply shuts down. This permits problem-free operation with inductive and capacitive loads, keeping the installation safe. Some possible applications are power systems, automation of factories, instrumentation, light panels, telecommunications, laser machines, etc.
